They`ve stolen Spock`s Brain
I never met Spock but
I followed his adventures on the BBC
his death came as a great shock to Jim and me
I know he had pointed ears and green Vulcan blood
he was a stickler for the rules
except when it suited him otherwise
I found it infuriating that way he dismissed
all genuine attempts at humour
his worst defect in my eyes was his lack of humour
more specifically his alien arrogance meant
he was incapable of laughing at himself
There are no friends in this world
only strangers that you`ve met
Now I`m not going to get sentimental
now that Spock is dead
He had few human qualities
Priding himself on being unemotional
He was a been everywhere seen everything smart alec
there`s is a danger now of forgetting his defects
Spock was not a hero not a saint
he was merely typical of his race
People found his idiosyncrasies funny
as one might a chimpanzee
But he was Vulcan and like all Vulcan needs
to be viewed with deep suspicion
I will not be sorry if they never recover Spock`s Brain
