Welcome to our house
under the ground.
Some people call it
an ant mound.
We work so hard
from morning till night
to build a house of great height!
“Some nests are taller than a man!”
Welcome to our house,
a skyscraper!
It's full of termites’ chambers.
We work so hard
twenty-four seven
to build a house
that feels like heaven!
“Wow! It looks like a cathedral!”
Home, home, home
Home, sweet home
We live in it,
lay eggs in it,
and store some yummy food in it.
Home, home, home
Home, sweet home
Welcome to our house,
a honey bee hive.
In hexagonal cells,
we honey bees thrive.
We work so hard
from morning till night
to build a house
full of love and delight.
“Bees usually build their nests
in hollow trees!”
It’s Katydid’s world,
we’re widespread.
We don’t need a house,
we camouflage instead.
We sing out loud from dusk to night.
I’ll “call” tonight
under the moonlight.
“Katydids love tropical regions!”
Home, home, home
Home, sweet home
We live in it,
lay eggs in it,
and store some yummy food in it.
Home, home, home
Home, sweet home
